Not knowing where you are, that’s hotter than a Laredo parking lot in July for this neck of the woods.
I love that saying; “Hotter than a Laredo parking lot in July.” You immediately know what the person is inferring.
Approximately 38 million years ago, I lived in Houston, TX. I told you about one of my fave customers named Grady from back in those days.
That little post about Grady’s birthday job has had over 20,000 views.

The ten years that I lived in Houston were ten really good years. In fact, there are entire years that I can’t remember. Seriously. They’re just gone. Poof!
Yep, I was having that big of a time. But I digress…
The folks in Texas have a wonderful accent and some even better sayings to go right along with those sweet, smooth-talking tongues.
Texans actually say, “Howdy!” and they mean it when they say, “This ain’t my first rodeo.”
“Y’all” is a staple everywhere in the south, and Texas is no exception.

Southern accents are all different. I can tell a Texas accent from an Alabama accent in a New York minute.
Can’t you?
Don’t even get me started on those northeastern accents, like Vermont, Boston and New Hampshire. Those are like scotch.
It’s an acquired taste.
I think one of the reasons that I love Montana so much is because it truly is cowboy country, and it reminds me very much of Texas in that regard.
Sure there are differences between the two states, but when you get around Montana and Texas cowboys at the same time, the main way you tell them apart is by their accent.
The Wrangler jeans and boots all still look good when they’re smacking your lasso, if you know what I mean.
I do still enjoy looking at a cowboy or two. I’m not even going to lie about that.
Leave the hat and the boots on, and ride ’em, Cowboy!
Yee-haw!
Cowboy country is cowboy country.
And if you’re from cowboy country, you avoid going to those aforementioned northeastern states, like most folks put off watching a Hulu original series. Just sayin’.
There’s a show on the Paramount Network called Yellowstone that is crazily insane, when it comes to the particular dealings of the fictional Montana family that they portray, but it details Montana cowboys and the Montana ranching life pretty well.
Whether you’re in Texas or Montana today, we’re one day away from Friday, and it’s warming up.
It’s not quite hotter than a Laredo parking lot in July, but if you’ve got a cowboy (cowgirl) in your bed tonight, it’ll be pretty dang close.
